Saybrook Breakwater Lighthouse is a Sparkplug lighthouse located on Fenwick Point at the mouth of the Connecticut River near Old Saybrook, CT. The lighthouse is also known simply as "Breakwater Light" or "Outer Light".  Shown in the background of my painting is Lynde Point Lighthouse or more commonly as "Inner Light" and is 75 years older than Saybrook lighthouse. The two lighthouses mark the harbor channel at the mouth of the Connecticut River.

Saybrook Light was built in 1886 and is still an active aid to navigation and maintained by the US Coast Guard.  But the structure is under private ownership and not opens to the public.
