Up for sale is a Canon 40D camera body with about 24000 clicks on the shutter. This camera has 2 problems. The first did not affect picture taking ability for me. After about 10000 pictures, the rear display stopped working - no menus and no pictures were displayed. This might be due to a loose connector; however, I did not attempt to repair it since the camera continued to take pictures perfectly for about another 14000 pictures. The second problem just happened and it does affect picture taking ability. The mirror stopped pivoting up properly, it goes slightly cockeyed and blocks the light path to the sensor. This appears to be a mechanical problem similar to one I fixed on a Canon 10D several years ago. The shutter is unaffected. The last picture shows the interior of the mirror box during a long exposure during which the mirror should be up.
