VINTAGE & RARE, c.1982 Titanium Made, Champagne Painted Nikon F3/T "Limited Edition" (LE), & matching Serial #'d Nikon Nikkor 50mm f/1.4 Lens Set.

 

Brand New with Wooden box & Golden Boxes.

 

AMAZING FIND! This set and paperwork look UNTOUCHED. The F3/T (T stands for Titanium or Titan) was released back in March, 1982 and ONLY the first 300 camera bodies were offered as sets with matching serial # 50mm 1:1.4 AI-S LENS! Yes, matching #'s BODY and LENS right from the factory line.

This particular outfit was the 47th. (#047/300) so it's among the first batch.

 

THE BEST PART IS THAT THIS PARTICULAR SET COMES WITH TWO PIECES OF PAPERWORK YOU MIGHT HAVE NOT SEEN BEFORE, issued by NIKON INC. TO ITS DEALERS WHICH RECEIVED F3/T LE'S:

  • Letter, dated June 18, 1985, letting the F3T LE customers know that a CERTIFICATE was available for their sets (SEE 3rd picture);
  • Letter, dated May 20, 1996 (SEE 4th picture), yes, almost 11 years later!) to Rowe Professional Photographers Inc, a Nikon Dealer still in business, ENCLOSING the certificates for two F3/T LE: #T8200016 & #T8200047. The best part is that the mentioned dealer had kept the camera sets 'til those days so it was possible putting things together. By the way, the actual owner of #16 is a friend of mine, in Australia. 

The Serial #8200047 is present at:

  • Certificate of Authenticity (Elegantly Written & Signed on "Wax Paper";
  • Brass Plaque in the Wood/Red Velvet Box;

Nikon has hardly issued a handful of "Limited Edition" Camera Bodies/Sets. The F3/T LE, besides the Nikon FM Gold, belongs in the rarest of all (Production of some other Specials: 2,000 FA Gold, 2,500 F2A 25th Anniv., 3,000 F5 50th Anniv., 2,000 FM2 Millennium Kit, et cetera). The F3/T LE isn't just rarer, but its platform was the just released (a month before!) Nikon's "NEW" Flagship: The (NOWADAYS) LEGENDARY F3HP... And this "LE" was beautifully presented, as no other (earlier or later Nikon Limited Edition) has, and is the only one totally dressed in Titanium. The world has not realized about the rarity and special character of this very unique Nikon masterpiece...

On the other hand, some countries Customs/Postal Offices retain the packages for taxing purposes. Please ask locally because your package might be sitting there.
