Up for auction is an antique Antique Birch Wood Pipe in a 2-Piece Japanese Gift Box with a shattered plastic Bit/Lip Piece. Total weight of the box and pipe is 2 ozs. It is in unused condition. The bowl has birch bark on it. I don't know for certain what kind of wood the stem is made from. I tested the metal components for Sterling and they are not. There are three sections of metal pieces: connector collar between stem and bit; metal threaded top cap collar of bowl and the cross hatched metal connector on end of stem that connects to the base of the bowl which pulls out of the side of the bowl to make it easy to clean out this breather hole.  The stem is 3 1/2" long and the bowl is 2" tall with a 1 1/8" diameter. The 2 piece Japanese gift box is very nice. It has a printed or maybe handpainted scene on the top of the box. The sides of the lid are covered with striped paper. There is a faded strip label: "Geisha Flowers," on one end of the lid. I don't know what would have originally came inside this box. It is 4 3/4" long, 2 1/8" wide and 1 5/8" deep.
-   This old pipe and 2-piece Japanese gift box are in very good, well preserved condition, except for the early type of plastic Bit/Lip Piece that is Shattered. These broken, loose pieces will be included. This pipe is in unused condition. Inside of the bowl shows no burn marks.
