A really nice piece of very rare collectable camouflage, this is a 1954 dated Belgian Denison smock, based on the original British paratroopers smock this particular design is the limited issue Moon and balls design which was only produced from 1952 to 1956. The "saw tooth" effect Brushstroke camouflage can be clearly seen on the front of jacket which, along with the date is a significant distinguishing factor from the later Belgian Denison smock.

These smocks were worn up until the 1970's by Belgian Parachute regiments, Commandos and Marines.

The jacket does have some wear marks and fraying around cuffs, hem and collar but the overall condition although faded, is good and the smock would be wearable as the heavy cotton fabric is strong and the stitching is all intact. The zip works and the "beaver tail" is intact.

A fabulous piece for Camouflage collectors particularly those with an interest in Para forces.
