For your consideration is a beautiful authentic LOUIS ICART “WERTHER” Colored Etching, circa 1928.

Born in France, Louis Icart (1890-1950) is a very well known and documented artist. His brilliant work made him a symbol of the Art Deco Movement which continues to be highly admired to this day.

Titled “WERTHER”, this is absolutely a gorgeous piece depicting a beautiful & elegant young lady causally standing on a romantic balcony. The etching has deep tranquil coloring  and has with all the bells and whistles in relation to signature, markings, blind stamp and a certificate of authenticity. It is documented in the “Louis Icart: The Complete Etchings" by Schiffer Publishing Ltd, PA book as figure #357. The etching is hand signed by Louis Icart in the lower right corner. It is marked as an artist’s proof in pencil on lower left corner along with the embossed seal or windmill blind stamp. The upper two corners are also marked - please see pics.

The etching is in Excellent condition and has been nicely custom framed to compliment. The viewing area measures approx. 15" wide by 22" tall , the frame dimensions are approx. 25" wide by 32" tall.
