into Bandana Buddies UK ©
A wide range of Bandanas and Bibs having been designed, created and sewn solely by myself
with much love and care sewn into each and every bandana I make -
they are ideal for sufferers of Dysphagia (drooling, dribbling or difficulty swallowing excess saliva)
special needs, older child/teen, young adult and the elderly.
My design and fit has been tested for many years, our Granddaughter Matilda Sue was born with
Spina Bifida
and many other related physical health issues. Having health
problems doesn't mean Matilda and other sufferers like
her aren't conscientious
of what they wear believe me they surely are and why not indeed.
I have sourced from various suppliers in the UK and Europe over a long period of time,
trial and error, various fabrics and combinations of fabrics that best fit for purpose.
Finally settling and perfecting our range of bandanas by using the following range of high end fabrics :-
1) quality cotton top outer layer for quality, softness, design, coolness and less chaffing than some heavier or coarser fabrics.
2) the unique fine and light weight soft white terry water proofed backing.
3) the best absorbent terry cloth for the interior layer
4) the premium bamboo terry for ultra absorbency and also for its added unique and natural anti bacterial and anti allergenic properties , and finally
5) the PUL backing fabric, again with added anti fungal and bacterial properties.
PUL is a polyester/polyurethane laminated knit fabric - this backing is totally waterproof and durable which prevents wetness being transferred to the wearer.
So with this in mind .............
Bandana Buddies UK © have developed their range yet again, and now produce FOUR different types of bandana to suit everyone's individual and medical needs and preference. (Just choose your choice at check out)
1. Light Weight -
Cotton outer layer with light waterproof terry backing
2. Heavy Weight -
Cotton outer layer with an additional inner layer of absorbent quality thick terry fabric
and outer layer of light waterproof terry backing (in order to stop wetness absorbed
on inner layer passing through onto clothing)
3. Premium Weight -
Cotton outer layer with an additional inner layer of premium soft bamboo terry and outer layer
of light waterproof terry backing fabric (in order to stop wetness absorbed on inner layer
passing through onto clothing)
Premium bamboo terry fabric has extremely high water absorbent qualities,
it also contains natural anti-allergenic and anti-bacterial properties.
Therefore this bandana is ideal for those who
may need extra protection, the sensitive or extreme droolers etc.
4.Super Dry Weight -
Cotton outer
layer with an inner layer of premium bamboo terry and outer layer
of premium white
PUL fabric. PUL is a polyester/polyurethane
laminated knit fabric.
This fabric is totally waterproof
and durable. It is machine washable up
to 60 degrees and is also a
medical grade fabric the coating is protected against
fungi and bacteria.
Bandanas backed with
this fabric are totally waterproof - any
wetness will not pass through to the wearer.
Again the “Premium
Bamboo Terry” has high water absorbent qualities,
it also contains natural
anti-allergenic
and anti-bacterial
properties.
Therefore this bandana is ideal for those who may need or
require extra
protection the heavy/extreme droolers.
Our bandanna's wash and dry amazingly time after time with and if preferred
you may light iron the front of the bandanna only.
Our Bandanas are a full 12" (25.5 cms) in length.
widest point in width/coverage of chest approx 17" (42cms)
and fastens with two colour coordinating plastic snap fasteners
(nickel can discolour and may cause allergic reaction to user)
giving a varying neck size of 18" up to 21"
(whilst still maintaining looseness around the neck area -
important for user comfort and reduce chaffing)
If you require smaller neck, I can re-position snap fasteners where required
- please message if you require otherwise snaps will be placed as above.
