This is a set of used filters, with about 80% life left, and exhibiting slight off gassing.

These filters came in a used air filter I bought, and I decided to replace them with a new set because I detected a slight off gassing scent from them. I put a VOC meter on them for confirmation. Note that the VOC meter in the photos is way out of calibration - the absolute readings are nowhere near the real value, but the relative values are meaningful. I showed the readings on top of this filter set and on top of a brand new set of filters to demonstrate that there is some VOC offgassing, but not a significant level of formaldehyde offgassing as compared to a new unit. Don’t put too much weight on the actual numbers, but instead focus on the relative values between this used set and a new set.

The filter life on the air filter showed about 80% life remaining.
