About 5-HTP

5-HTP is an amino acid naturally produced in the body and is a chemical precursor to the neurotransmitter Serotonin, more commonly known as the 'happy hormone'.

Eating more foods with tryptophan does not increase the amount of 5-HTP in the body. However, 5-HTP produced commercially from the seeds of Griffonia simplicifolia, an African shrub, can be taken as a supplement.

Suggested use

As a food supplement for adults, take 1 capsule daily, best taken about 1-2 hours before bed on an empty stomach or with a light snack.

Do not exceed stated dose unless directed by a healthcare practitioner.
