This Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH. (Silver) 11882 was the last brand new BRASS Summicron-M 35mm that could be purchased from the Leica Stores in the USA. It was produced in 2015, not far from the official replacement of 11882 by 11674 in the early 2016.

This is a brand new BRASS lens, the newer versions are all anodized aluminum lenses, either black or silver. If you are a fan of BRASS Leica lenses and are fond of the heavy feeling of a lens in your hand, you should not miss this NEW BRASS lens. Yes, it is heavy, and, of course, with 6-bit coding.
