Plot Summary:
Season 1 (eps.1-25) (Japanese/English/Asian): The players of a virtual reality MMORPG, Sword Art Online, are trapped and fighting for their very lives. After it is announced that the only way to leave the game is by beating it, Kirito—a very powerful swordsman—and his friends take on a quest to free all the minds trapped in Aincrad.
Season 2 (eps.1-24) (Japanese/English/Asian): One year after the SAO incident was resolved, Kazuto Kirigaya is adjusting to a normal life once again as best he can. He thinks all that death is finally behind him, until he is approached with some startling information. In the wildly popular pro shooter MMO Gun Gale Online, an ominous player has shot players in the game, and the same players mysteriously turned up dead in real life. Kazuto feels himself being pulled in as if by the shadow of SAO and agrees to investigate. He must now tread back into the dark world of his past with the help of the troubled, ice-cold sniper Shinon as he searches for the player who only refers to himself as "Death Gun."
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online (eps.1-12 + Special) (Japanese/English): Karen Kohiruimaki is a 183-centimeter-tall (6-foot-tall) college student who's insecure her height, and is bad at dealing with people in the real world. She enters the world of Gun Gale Online with her avatar, Llenn, who is less than 150 centimeters (5 feet) tall and wears all pink. She meets a beautiful, brown-skinned female player who goes by Pitohui. They hit it off, but one day Pitohui pressures her to participate in "Squad Jam," a team Battle Royale variation of the Bullet of Bullets tournament.
Sword Art Online: Alicization (1-24 + Special) (Japanese/English): The Soul Translator is a state-of-the-art full-dive interface which interacts with the user's Fluctlight—the technological equivalent of a human soul—and fundamentally differs from the orthodox method of sending signals to the brain. The private institute Rath aims to perfect their creation by enlisting the aid of Sword Art Online survivor Kazuto Kirigaya. He works there as a part-time employee to test the system's capabilities in the Underworld: the fantastical realm generated by the Soul Translator. As per the confidentiality contract, any memories created by the machine in the virtual world are wiped upon returning to the real world. Kazuto can only vaguely recall a single name, Alice, which provokes a sense of unease when mentioned in reality.
Sword Art Online: Alicization - War of Underworld (Season 3) (1-23 + 2 Special) (Japanese/English, SP - Japanese ONLY): Time has passed since Kirito defeated the pontifex. While Bercoulli seeks to rebuild and bolster the defenses of the human lands in anticipation of an assault by the forces of darkness, Alice fears for the catatonic Kirito's safety and so relocates to a cabin near Rulid. She may not be accepted in the village, but at least she's near her sister Selka as she looks after Kirito. Though she feels that she cannot swing her sword anymore except to cut down trees, an attack on Rulid may force her to act anyway.
Sword Art Online the Movie: Ordinal Scale (Japanese/English/Asian): In 2026, two years since the SAO incident, a new game called "Oridinal Scale," an Augmented-Reality MMO, is becoming popular among the players. But strange things are happening in the game and Kirito and the gang are facing a new danger.
Sword Art Online: Extra Edition (Japanese/English): Kirito is called for an emergency counseling meeting at his new school while his sister has swimming lessons with their friends. There he meets an elite member of the Virtual Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Kirito then tells him details about what really happened in Aincrad and in Alfheim.
Sword Art Online II: Debriefing (Japanese/English): Recap episode of the Phantom Bullet arc, also known as Episode 14.5.

PICTURE QUALITY: It should be clear that newer series are state of the art and the picture quality is formidable. But please consider that screen resolution and screen format of elderly series are also contemporary and incomparable with latest productions. While watching with modern HD televisions there might be slight problems when the set is trying to boost the picture quality. But this has nothing to do with the DVDs themselves.
