A circa 1440 AD Medieval illuminated manuscript on vellum. The vellum decorated on both sides with ornate calligraphy, illuminated complex scroll motif letters and gregorian chants.

This document is hundreds of years old and was used in an abbey as a music manuscript by the monks for hundreds of years.

The listing is for pages 37 and 38 (front and back)

This document measures approximately 18 9/16" tall by 13 3/8" wide (472mm x 339mm).

Condition is good for almost 600 years of age. Discoloration from handling pages over hundreds of years, Warping, foxing to one edge, perforations to one side from original binding. The vellum (which is a special sort of leather) is strong and very intact especially considering it's authenticity.

This would make a beautiful addition to any religious themed collection or for a music lover.

Extraordinary surviving example.
