These Holophane 685 14" diameter, Circa 1930's -1940's are in absolutely wonderful condition. They are very old and have attained a wonderfully desirable patina. No color alteration, over-cleaning or top-coats of any kind, they seem to have avoided any but the most minuscule rust, uncommon for these lights. The glass is in nice condition with no cracks at all. All have scuff marks on the ribs of the glass from rubbing together. Nothing terrible but just not perfect, strictly part of aging, storage and travel. 

I've installed a 14 gauge 3-wire cord to these lights. (This is very heavy duty, perhaps more than would be required, but it make us feel good). I will also include a vintage standard size galvanized electric box cover plate complete with a cord-grip, same as on the light. One side is painted industrial silver, the other side is galvanized. These will fit most round or octagonal electric boxes. If you need square covers, simply ask. (Prior to shipping please).

To keep the light user friendly and performing better than new, I installed a brand new UL Listed socket along with a machined aluminum socket fitter extension that brings the bulb out of the neck and into the shade where it belongs, providing much more light per watt and substantially more visually appealing. Today's bulbs are far shorter than bulbs were when these lights we manufactured. The extension also allows for a ground wire for compliance and safety, my commercial customers LOVE this addition...pass your inspections!!

The original asbestos gaskets were removed and replaced with new, factory cut high-temperature gaskets for your safety.

Knurled Knobs twist freely and allow easy removal of the shade for cleaning: no tools are required.  Absolutely wonderful condition, the new owner will be pleased. 

Lights will be shipped in individual boxes with the rod and hanger removed to insure safe arrival; re-assembly is EASILY accomplished by purchaser. I even include the wire nuts but also suggest that all electrical items should be checked and installed by a professional electrician.

These lights will need to be shipped in their very own boxes, so I will not be able to combine shipping.
