Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome.

You are looking at a 1940's era Turner CX microphone with classic, clean lines and heavy deco influence. This is one of Turners early crystal microphones having a bullet shape with the early Turner fin seen in many of their first generation designs.

Pic # 2 is from a catalog I have showing the mic and it's basic specs.

As seen in the pictures provided this mic has a somewhat rough satin chrome finish having a bit of corrosion and several scratches. The original black screen is in perfect condition. The Turner badge is hardly legible but sits firmly in place. Both threads for the cable and stand are in perfect condition.

Sadly the original element no longer works as they rarely do at this age of 80 years. This would also make a decent display piece however and these are commonly used by harmonica players due to there small lite weight design. I'd give this a 4 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This Turner microphone originally came in 4 different variants. The base model BX and BD were both painted and utilized different elements (crystal & dynamic). The CX and CD were both satin chrome finish and the more expensive mics.

MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...USED FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY.

As with all my vintage microphones for sale...
