Is this product for me?

Our repair kit has been precisely designed and manufactured right here in North-America to securely repair a common problem in some SUV's heavily rusted rear wheel wells. If you have this problem, our product has been precisely designed and manufactured for you!

The failure of the upper shock mount is caused by a major design flaw in the original manufacturing of the vehicle. After time, the sheet metal of the wheel well where the original shock mount attaches gets severely attacked by rust, and that slowly but surely allows the shock mount to detach from the car, making the shock absorber inoperable. In addition, the exposed holes in the wheel well of the vehicle allow water and debris from the road to go inside the vehicle's trunk on the long term, unless they are sealed back.

Thousands of Ford Escape and Mazda Tribute owners have faced (or will soon face) this very serious issue on their vehicles. Other than our secure relocation kit, there is no easy nor simple alternative on the market making our product extremely unique. Should you wish to repair your vehicle without our repair kit it will require multiple, very long and difficult repairs that can easily cost thousands of dollars to bring your car back to its original, safe state.

Thanks to the BSS mechanic team, our patented repair kit is now widely available on the market to reduce the cost of this repair by 75 to 95%, all while improving the durability and strength of the shock absorber support.

How does it work?

Our kit allows you, or your mechanic to bolt in a new upper mount for the shock absorber directly on the frame of the car with ease. This bracket is precisely manufactured to hold the shock absorber in it’s exact, identical original position. The structural role of the bracket then offers easy fiberglass techniques for sealing the vehicle against dust, stones and water.

This repair kit comes with a 13 page step-by-step installation instruction booklet, with more than 27 quality pictures and drawings showing you how to position the bracket correctly. This booklet was designed with you in mind and can answer any questions in detail you may have during the installation!

Any qualified body shop or mechanic can complete this repair in about 4 hours of work for each side. All you need to do is bring our kit with our instructions to your trusted mechanic and let them do the rest, it’s that simple!

The most unique aspect of our kits is the ease of installation! Using basic tools and knowledge, you can DO-IT-YOURSELF, at home, in your own garage or driveway. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Will it pass a safety test?

A:

When one of our auxiliary shock mounts is installed according to our precise instruction manual, we guarantee that it will pass any safety test. To the best of our knowledge, no such safety test has ever failed due to our products. Keep in mind, we have sold hundreds and hundreds of our auxiliary shock mount kits with no problems to date.

In the unlikely event it should ever occur, we will offer a 100% refund for the original cost of both parts and installation labor as well as a completely free re-installation of a new kit, at our expense. This includes labour in a nearby location and a new kit.

Q: What makes purchasing your repair kit a better solution than                   purchasing a replacement wheel well panel?

A:

Let's be clear. When you purchase one on our repair kits, you are not saving money on parts: You are saving a tremendous amount of money (or time) on LABOUR. The cost of labour is what makes the huge difference.

We are not even shy to say that some suppliers offer replacement aftermarket panels for more or less the same cost as our repair kits. However, you better know sooner than later that the awful job of replacing such panel is quoted 22 hours of labour (FORD, 2015). You might be wondering: Why would the replacement of the panel take so long? It is so because the manufacturers did not design it to be replaced, the inner body parts being one of the first parts that are set after the frame during the assembly of the car. This means that, to replace it, you would have to dismantle a considerable portion of the back of the car (including the rear seats) in order to cut and remove the spotwelds (tricky), find enough room for a safe welding operation, and most importantly find enough remaining healthy metal on the edge of the panel to execute a solid weld (sometimes it is not possible). You would most likely end-up with a very time-consuming and costly repair with the result being a new panel welded on a rust-prone surface...

Our repair kit is time-saving because, when using an auxiliary shock mount bolted on the frame, it is not necessary to remove and replace the large rusted steel panel over the wheel well, but instead to simply grind the rusted areas out of it so that the auxiliary shock mount can take its place over the shock absorber and be bolted on the frame of your car, aside of the shock absorber. All the rusted areas can then easily be cleaned-in-place, patched with fiberglass, sealed and protected by our rubberized spray coating (all those materials are included in the COMPLETE REPAIR KITS).

Q: Why can't I find the same bracket on my car? Will it correctly attach       to my car model and year?

A:

Our shock mounts are auxiliary shock mounts. An auxiliary shock mount replaces the function of the original shock mount (the part that is detaching from the rusted body) but it does not have the same shape as the original equipment. That is totally on purpose: it will save you or your mechanic 15-18 hours of work and it will solve the problem on the long term.

It is completely normal that you can’t currently find any such part on your car until you install one at the precise location designated in the instructions booklet.

The portion of the frame where the auxiliary shock mount can be bolted is a horizontal beam, rectangular in this area, about 2½ inches large and 3 inches high, passing just below the original upper shock mount. The side of this beam is visible in the wheel arch, and this is where the bracket bolts on. The installation guide describes precisely where to position the auxiliary shock mount on the frame with ease. The goal is to attach the upper end of the shock absorber (on the auxiliary shock mount) exactly where it was attached on the original shock mount.

Q: My car seems pretty rusty 'round there! Can I still save it from going       to the scrapyard and install this auxiliary shock mount anyways?

A:

In most cases, yes you can. That said, it is important to have a look at the integrity of your car frame and not just the wheel arch integrity. Overtime, rust can go anywhere from surface to the structure. In other words, rust can affect anything from the body to the frame of a car. As this is unexpected, it may not affect all parts equally.

In the case of most affected vehicles (Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute, Mercury Mariner), the steel panel of the wheel arch, which is a part of the body and not the frame, is affected by rust and causes problems when it stops holding the shock tower in place. It is extremely rare that the frame itself (the large steel beam that is the skeleton of the car) is compromised by rust to a point where an auxiliary shock mount would not bolt solid which is crucial. In the unlikely event your frame is deeply affected by rust in the area (for example if the beam is crumbling or if some holes are forming through the beam) you will not be able to correctly bolt the auxiliary shock mount on it.

However, if your frame only has some minor surface rust which is common, the bolting of an auxiliary shock mount has very, very high chances of success. Due to the frame being the core support of the vehicle it is manufactured of a much thicker steel than the body, making it last much longer than the lighter, rust prone panels of the body.

Q: I don't know much about mechanics. Can I perform the install by                myself?

A:

We guarantee that the installation does not require any sort of advanced mechanical knowledge. If you know how to safely remove and replace a wheel, how to safely use a grinder and a drill, most likely you will be able to follow the steps of our easy installation guide without any problems.

If ever you begin your install and you feel like you are not able to install our products because it is out of your skill range, you can ask your local mechanic to install it for you OR you can ship it back to us for a full refund without any hassle. Since our founding in 2015, we never had to do refund any of our clients due to their lack of installation skills!

Q: What if I order one of your products and I change my mind about                 installing it? Can I return the product for a refund?

A:

Our return policy is simple: You have 60 days after the reception of your product to ship it back for a total refund of the purchase price. Our full warranty offers a 60 day, 100% money-back guarantee. Return procedures are described in our detailed return policy.

Q: Will an auxiliary shock mount affect the way the car drives or make it       less safe?
A:

Absolutely not. When the auxiliary shock mount is installed according to our instructions, the point of attachment of the shock tower to the car remains at the same, identical place. Our patent-pending design, principle, the thickness of the steel we use and our welding techniques make the bracket 5 times thicker than the original equipment. This means our product is much more resistant to wear and tear making the car even safer than before while keeping the same driving characteristics.

Our designs have been laboratory tested and every one of our products adhere to strict quality control prior to shipment. No amount of driving, regardless of road conditions can affect the bracket to a point where it could break. This is part of our extensive and rigorous warranty. If ever one of our auxiliary shock mount doesn’t make it to the end of the useful life of the car, we offer a 100% refund or replacement for free including parts and labour at a nearby location. We stand behind every one of our products!

Q: Will I pay some import fees, duty or taxes at delivery?
A:

We are proud to offer 100% North American made products, and those are not subject to custom fees for all shipping addresses located in North America. If ever you had to pay for import shipping fees (because of a customs mistake for exemple) we would refund those fees without hassle provided you have a proof of payment. This never happens because all our parcels that cross the border are compliant to international trade declaration rules and are not subject to duty fees.

Q: What does your full lifetime warranty cover?

A:

All our products are covered by a full warranty during their useful life, limited to breakage of parts (not including normal wear), as long as the original owner owns it and as long as it is installed on the original car, provided that the installation is executed in accordance with our installation instructions. In case of a failure of any of our parts during their normal useful life, we will, at the buyer's discretion, either:

- reimburse the buyer;

or

- provide a replacement and reimburse for any labor that is necessary to replace the failed part.

We stand behind every one of our products!

Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question before, during or after your installation!
