This is a very handsome - perfectly preserved
Antique Taxidermy Turtle with a Brass insert.

This would probably date to the Victorian era.

The piece measures 7 3/4 inches from the tip of
it's nose to the curve of it's tail.

It is 4 3/4 inches wide at it's widest point.

The piece stands 3 5/8 inches to the top if it's head.

The shell is a beautiful combination of Brown's and
Amber's.

There are two small holes at either end of the Shell -
I think that there might have been a brass handle
at some time.

The two glass eyes are intact.

The Tail appears to be fully intact.

The Legs appear to be in perfect condition - with no
breaks - which is very unusual.  The Legs were preserved
by filling them with Plaster of Paris - and are very susceptible
to cracking.  I have a few of these in my personal collection
and all of them have repaired legs.

The Brass insert has not been polished - there are a few
"Smudges" commensurate with age.

This is a very rare - very interesting piece.
