Gorgeous Southwestern Native American Indian turquoise Sterling silver bead necklace with pendant, stamped STERLING, and picto-hallmarked by Tommy Jackson. The previous owner bought the necklace from Tommy directly, and told us that after he had finished making the pendant he realized that he had stamped his fish hallmark but forgot to stamp his name inside the fish.  Adding the name afterwards could have damaged the piece, so he left the fish hallmark alone, without the signature. Tommy Jackson, a full-blooded Navajo from Chinle, Arizona, was born on January 20th, 1958, and learned the art of jewelry making early on, from his parents Martha and Gene Jackson. He is a highly skilled silversmith known for his flexibility to work with gold and silver and with both traditional and contemporary designs. He has won numerous awards for his stunning pieces, including awards from the Heard Museum Show in Phoenix, Santa Fe Indian Market, and The Museum of Northern Arizona. The unique pendant showcases a natural, light blue-green stone with striking brown markings. The nicely polished cabochon is set in a well-constructed smooth bezel on a beautifully stamped pendant. The pendant weighs 39.1 grams, it's 3 5/16" tall by almost 2" wide, at its widest, and 2 5/16" tall minus the bale and loop. The stone is approximately 1 1/16" tall by 1 3/8" wide, from bezel to bezel. The necklace has 1/4" seamless beads, in antique finish, and it's 24 13/16" long from hook to eye. The total weight of this piece is almost 80 grams. Exceptional craftsmanship and stone. Excellent condition.
