Up for auction is my Hasselblad Distagon 50mm f2.8 FE lens, which has been stamped with NASA markings. I have owned this lens for approximately ten (10) years and it produces excellent images. This auction includes the lens, correct front and rear lens caps, Hasselblad lens pouch (slightly worn), and Hasselblad original box (definitely worn).

From direct observations, it appears that the NASA modifications to this lens include two custom metal "tabs" which have been installed around both the focusing and aperture rings. These tabs definitely assist in the operation of these controls, and perhaps it was done to assist users wearing heavy gloves. No other modifications to the lens are apparent, other than the "NASA" and "1998" stickers on the lens itself.

The optics and cosmetics of this lens are excellent, in fact, near mint condition. The operation of the aperture ring is smooth and stable. The focusing ring feels slightly stiff and "notchy", which may be a result of dried or drying internal helical gear grease. I have been informed by Hasselblad that they would be able to service this lens at their New Jersey Service Center.

Other than the stiff focusing ring, the lens operates correctly and as I mentioned renders superb images.

I am able to ship this lens internationally, so if interested please request an international shipping quote before bidding.
