Canada 10 Dollars 1974 Silver High Grade NGC MS68 Map Mule coin only 320 minted

This charty, courtesy of NGCCoin.com  shows the scarcity of this specimen and how seldom it rears its head to the collecting public.

This Chart, courtesy of HA.com shows the scarcity of the remarkable grade of this specimen and how and MS68 is just not available to the public.

1973 Olympics 10 Dollar

When production began for the Olympic 1973 map reverse ten dollar coins, the obverse die from the 1974 Olympic ten dollar coin was used for roughly (see Numista - Mintage chart) 320 of these mule coins.  In roughly 15 years only 5 have been seen in auctions that ranked at the mint state.  Of these the highest was MS66.  However, a private collector sold his specimen which certifies at MS68.

The sum of it...

  1. This is a rare gem with derives from a mintage pool of merely 320 specimens,
  2. Of the ranking Mint State specimens seen, only five have merited attention
  3. Of those 5, the highest MS seen was two grades below this one.

A collector could go a lifetime and never see this kind of specimen up for auction, so if you are a patron of the extremely rare and unique - here it is...
