Tony Conigliaro Boston Red Sox TCMA Card 1978 from1960's Set

 MT. Auction is for the Tony conigliaro card, the key card in the Red Sox team set issued almost thirthy years ago in 1978 by TCMA. The set is known as the pure set as there is no writing on the front of the card. The card looks Mint and can be professionally graded. The 13 card team set includes Tony Horton, Bill Monbouquette, Dennis Bennett, Bill Spanswick, Chuck Schilling, Lee Thomas, Earl Wilson, Frank Malzone, Dick Radatz, Eddie Bressoud, Arnold Earley and Bob Tillman (no Carl Yastrzemski). The Red Sox set is part of a larger 293 card set. The card shows a young Tony from 1964 in a batting pose,  #206. One of the few and the last card issued while he was alive. Tony Conigliaro Boston Red Sox 1963-75. Local Boston sports hero born in East Boston, broke into lineup at 19 years old, hit home run his first pitch at Fenway Park Opening Day in front of the Robert Kennedy, Ted Kennedy and family with funds going to the JFK Library. Youngest player to hit 100 home runs, led the league in home runs 1965. Hit by a pich in 1967 that ruined his carear, possibly leading to his early death.
