Greek Seasoning for Gyros/Souvlaki 50gr:
Traditional greek seasonings for mediterranean cuisine, made with carefully selected herbs and spices, it will enhance the natural flavour of your fresh ingredients. For tasty twist add to meat .
Spices included: Oregano, Paprika, Salt, Pepper, Cumin.
Recipe:
250gr pork (neck or solder), 1 medium tomato, 1 green pepper cut in chunks, 1 medium onion cut in chunks, 2 tsp mix for gyros/souvlaki, lemon juice, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp white wine
Method:
Cut the meat into cubes about 4cm/1,5 inches across and put in a bowl along with the wine, mix for gyros/souvlaki and onion . Mix well and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2-3 hours. Then take a large skewer and onto it push alternate pieces of meat, tomato and onion. Cook under a preheated oven grill or on charcoal, without letting the meat go dry . Squeeze on lemon juice and serve with pitta bread, lettuce and yogurt with cucumber and garlic. (White vinegar can be used instead of wine in the marinade.)
