I am not a professional book seller. I will describe the book as best I can, but please reach out with questions if you need a fuller understanding of the condition.

The book is an original volume with a copyright of 1884. The George Comfort German Course is a classic that is still in use. The full tile of the volume is: “A German Course; Adapted to use in Colleges, High Schools, and Academies.” The author is identified as a Professor of Modern Languages at Syracuse University in New York.

There are 498 pages including an index. After the index is a short (8 page) description of other books in Comfort’s German course series.

The volume is bound in what appears to be leather spine with a cloth hardcover.

I consider the book to be in good condition. All pages are present and not torn; there is evidence of some former dog-earring (see photo). There is some leather wear along the spine; wear at corners and occasional cloth threads. A person’s name dated 2-9-‘85 (presumably meaning 1885) is written in red pen on the inside front cover. There are a couple of light pencil marks on the table of contents, but otherwise I have found no markings on the pages.

There are occasional stains, bits of dust, but for the most part the volume is clean.
