Proventia Network Intrusion Prevention System GX6116 is one of the industry's first intrusion prevention service appliances designed to operate at the network core and help meet the needs of large enterprise or carrier deployments. This service appliance features five gigabits per second of protection. It also boasts protection across eight network segments, versus other service providers' four segments, and offers configurable bounded latency. Eight protected network segments allow for maximum scalability, decreasing the number of appliances enterprises need to achieve optimum protection, while configurable bounded latency is designed to help ensure performance is not impacted. Proventia Network Intrusion Prevention System GX6116 is designed to meet the network core's demanding requirements through a custom-built architecture, featuring a network processing unit (NPU) specifically designed to process network packets at high speeds.
