Herefordshire by Alexander Hogg, engraved by Thomas Conder, published in 1794

Copper engraved map on hand laid paper with later hand colouring.

Alexander Hogg (active 1778-1805) was a publisher and printer at the 'Kings Arms 16 Paternoster Row' in London.  He published many works under different names. 'The New British Traveller' was published in 1784 under the name of 'George Augustus Walpoole'.  It was a guide to Britain with maps engraved by Thomas Conder (active 1775-1801).  The maps were mostly copies of maps by Thomas Kitchen and Thomas Bowen produced in the 1760s and 1770s.  The book was republished in 1794 as 'The New and Complete English Traveller' by William Hugh Dalton.  This map probably comes from this 1794 edition.
