DESCRIPTION:  Here is a rare 19th century Haviland & Co Limoges two tone hand painted porcelain cup and saucer with a butterfly handle. The handle being in the shape of a butterfly and is well painted in light bright colours. The cup is painted to each side with a colourful butterflies with the saucer having three colourful painted butterflies to the border. The cup and saucer is two tone being on a white ground with the cup interior and saucer well being painted in a light gray. The cup is marked to the base with a blue H & Co pour G. Harrison (retailer) over a green H & Co back stamp. Marked to the base of the saucer also with blue Haviland & Co pour Glover Harrison Toronto over a green H & Co over a L and was made for the Canadian market. The cup and saucer date to circa 1860 to 1870.

SIZE:  The cup measures 2 3/8 inches high and 2 3/8 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 4 3/4 inches in diameter.

CONDITION: Sadly there is a small chip to the cup top rim and a very small chip to the saucer foot. The saucer has gilt ware to the outside rim and a little ware to the gilt line around the saucer well. The gilt ware is age related ware also it has very very minor ware to cup handle. Otherwise it is in good condition.
