Here is an early 19th century or possibly a little earlier Meissen porcelain coffee can with a saucer. Th coffee can has painted  within a gilt frame a panel of a named view which is on a brown ground and a black painted picture of the Hof theater in Germany with 16 adults and 1 child outside the theater and has part of another building to the left. To the base of the picture it has an inscription of Deis Hof Theater. I am not totally sure but i believe the Hof theater no longer exists. The handle has a nice sharp inner kick to it. The top inner top and bottom rims have a gilt band and the handle has a gilt band to the back. Although the saucer is a very good match i feel that is a associated as the glaze to the back has quite a blue tinge and feel it is not a Meissen saucer. The cup is marked to the base with with blue crossed swords and a single cut line (used pre 1850) so is most likely outside decorated as it has a small firing crack to the inside base of the coffee can. The saucer is unmarked. The coffee can measures 2 1/2 inches high and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. The saucer measures 4 7/8 inches in diameter and 1 1/4 inches high.

CONDITION:  There is a small firing crack to the base inside the coffee can as in picture 8. The saucer has a little gilt ware to the well as in picture 10. Otherwise it is in very good condition.
