Julia Maesa.  AD170.224. Daughter of Julius Bassianus. High priest of Elagabalus. Her younger sister Julia Domna features on Roman coins also. The Obverse reads: IVILA MAESA AVG. Seen facing left on the coin,she is noted  for the waved hair which is turned up at the back. The Reverse reads: PIETAS AVG. Pietas is draped, standing sacrificing with raised right hand over a lighted altar, and holding incense-box in left hand.
