DESCRIPTION: Here is a vintage Porcelaine De Paris mortar and pestle. Hand enameled with an exotic theme. The main decoration to the mortar depicts an exotic figure in a feathered hat and blowing a horn beside a tree with a monkey eating the red fruit up in the leaves. Around the mortar body it has enameled decoration of the trees leaves with red fruit and two exotic birds. To the inside of the mortar on the base it has an enameled garden scene and around the inner wall it has the tree leaves with red fruit. The mortar has a gilt lined top rim. To the glazed end of the pestle again having the tree leaves with red fruit to the glazed end. Marked to the base with blue printed Porcelain De Paris, Made in France with two crossed arrows to the center. There is a large impressed 2 to the outer rim. Dates to the 1960's / 1970's.

SIZE:  The mortar measures 2 1/8 inches high and 3 1/2 inches in diameter excluding lip. The pestle measures 3 5/8 inches long. Weighs 350 g before packing.

CONDITION:   There is minor loss to the enamel decoration only really noticeable on close inspection. The mortar around the gilt  line top rim has ware. Also there is gilt ware around the gilt domed top. Otherwise in good condition having no chips, cracks or restoration.
