A leaking crankcase breather valve? Engine all covered in oil on the intake side?
If your car is making squeaking/whistling noises which stop after the oil level dipstick is removed, showing a high level of engine vacuum, you can be 99.9% certain that the crankcase breather valve has been damaged — or, to be specific, its membrane !!!
Other symptoms of its damage include increased oil consumption, smoke and irregular engine operation !!!
The membrane operates in hot oil fumes and simply becomes damaged and deformed.
Underestimating this defect can result in engine deposits building up in the turbine, faulty flow meter operation, issues with the EGR valve (irregular engine operation, power shortage), intercooler soiling (increased fume temperature on the intake), reduced air capacity on the intake (power reduction).
The service typically suggests replacement of the whole component, i.e. the oil filter base (valve cover), which is integrated with the oil separator (crankcase breather valve)...
Unfortunately, it is not low cost...
It is also possible to purchase used components, but there is no guarantee of the used membrane being undamaged...
You can save a lot by buying the membrane itself from us and replacing it on your own !!!
Your engine will be dry and clean again and the oil will not reach the intake system and thus the turbine !!!
Replacing the membrane valve cover is not difficult. You just need to open the valve cap on the EP6DTS cylinder head cover, it snaps on, remove the old diaphragm with the spring and replace it with a new, pre-flushed seat. After installation, the motor will run erratically until the engine control unit adapts to the new volume of air (through the torn membrane there was an air suction not taken into account by the mass air flow sensor).
