Up for auction is a First Edition of History of the Twenty-First Regiment, Massachusetts Volunteers in the War for the Preservation of the Union, 1861-1865, with Statistics of the War and of Rebel Prisons by Charles F. Walcott.  This hardcover was published by Houghton Mifflin in 1882 and contains 502 pages.

The volume is signed by General George P. Hawkins who served as colonel of the regiment during the war.

The volume is in Fair condition. The text is clean with no markings.  The text block is complete and solid.  The cover shows edgewear with both boards nearly detached.  The endpage with the signature is detached and has been tape repaired..
