Graded SP70 (Uncirculated Specimen State) by ANACS  
  • Struck especially for collectors on highly buffed, burnished planchets (blanks) that yield a sharp strike with a mirror-like surface and softly frosted highlights, as opposed to the standard highlights of regular proofs
  • Better quality than Mint State, but not quite the quality of Proof coins
  • Features the highest possible grading on a 70-point scale

90% silver

  • After the first Kennedy half dollar was minted in 90% silver in 1964, the Mint did not release 90% silver Kennedys again until doing so in special silver proof sets starting in 1992
