Up for bids is a beautiful porcelain plate. It has a portrait of a beautiful girl in purple attire. She has rosy cheeks and big brown eyes. She's wearing a purple dress with a see-thru shawl tied with a bouquet of purple and yellow pansies. The detail is incredible. The plate has scalloped edges trimmed in gold. The Haviland & Co Limoges stamp on the back is from 1876 - 1889. It also has the signature and date, "M. J. Gray 1888". I researched this artist and could not find any other plates like this one. It measures 9-1/2". It's in excellent condition for its age with no nicks, chips, cracks, crazing, or repairs. It only has very minor gold loss.
