Soundhole and Rosette Routing Jig

This jig is the ultimate tool to cut perfect rosette trenches and soundholes in soundboards. The jig attaches to our Precision Router Base so that a Dremel tool can be used to make the cuts.

- Solid aluminium and brass construction
- Adjusts from 2" to 6" (50.8mm to 152.4mm) diameter cuts
- Indexing scale to quickly set routing diameter
- 4mm centre pin to be installed in base board
- Mounting screws included

How it works-
The jig should be mounted to our Precision Router Base and used with a Dremel router with a fresh Downcut Router bit installed.

A steel centre pin is included which is installed in a plywood or MDF baseboard. Drill a 4mm hole in the soundboard in the centre of where the rosette is to be installed and fit the soundboard over the pin.

Then adjust the Soundhole and Rosette Cutting Jig to the correct depth to match the rosette and correct diameter using the fine adjuster and lock off its position. The tool is then ready to route a trench. The diameter can be adjusted as many times as needed to get a perfectly fitting rosette.

Once the rosette is installed the soundhole can be cut through the thickness of the top.

It is important that a fresh downcut bit is used as it will give the cleanest cut. A diameter of 1/16" or 3/32" is ideal. Going very slow with the cutting will also help make a clean cut, a full rotation should take around 2 minutes.
