VINTAGE HANDMADE SOLID WOOD SHOE SHINE BOX - STOOL WITH ACCESSORIES 20 PIECES - 12x15x12
Hand-crafted shoe shine box. Rare double hinged lid. One side lifts up and turns over to reveal the wooden shoe post foot rest. Made of heavy durable solid wood. Tested and passed to support the weight of a 175 pound adult standing on top. It's very sturdy.
Includes 19 assorted accessories. Accessories came with the box when it was purchased at an estate sale of a U.S. WW2 veteran. While some accessories are appear full or still usable. We can't guarantee their condition. Box condition and dimensions below.
Acessories included:
*3 Buffing Blocks - wood block with soft pad. 2 have "EZE" advertising decals. 3rd one is plain and larger in size. Corners are chipped on 1 of the EZE marked blocks. All 3 have scuffs or stains from use. Pad on 1 block is worn and needs replacing. Measures 7" long x 2" wide and 8" long x 2.25" wide.
*1 Natural Bristle Brush - wood block with bristles. "Kiwi 100% Horsehair" logo on top. No chips/cracks in wood. Bristles are semi stiff. Measures 6.5" long x 2-3/8" wide.
*4 Polishing Applicators or Daubers with round brushes. 2 have wood handles. 2 have plastic handles. Brushes have different degrees of stiffness. 3 unmarked. 1 has brand name on handle. It says, "Empire, USA-Pure Horsehair Dauber". Measures 6" long x 1.75" wide x 1.5" high. Other wood handle dauber is 7" long x 2" wide x 1.5" high. Plastic handled daubers are 5.5" long x 1-1/8" wide x 1.25" high.
*4 Bottles of Liquid Polish - 3 have plastic bottles with sponge tips. Colors are white, brown, and neutral (pre-used but 1/2 or more full). Each measure about 5.25" high. Two are Kiwi brand and one is Esquire brand. 4th bottle looks older. It's a glass bottle with metal cap, 3 ozs., Brown color. It feels full. The brand is "Whittemore Heel and Sole Enamel". None appear "dried out". All bottles have liquid.
*4 Cans of Paste Polish - Black 1-1/8 oz., Brown 2.5 oz., Brown (new) 1-1/8 oz., Brown (new) 1-5/8 oz. Three are used and about 85% full. One is new and has a sealed pull tab top.
*3 Pieces of Shining Cloths - 2 are used, stained, and frayed edges. 1 is natural chamois, 1 is cotton canvas and last 1 is woven gauze in golden color.
*ALL accessory pieces were wrapped seperately in bubble or packing paper and tucked securely inside box. They are ready for safe shipping.
This box is a very thoughtful gift for a new enrolled service member of the armed forces. It's also perfect for people who dress formally or in a uniform and wear polished shoes. And for the veteran collector who would find this box nostalgic and enjoy it.
It's a solid heavy duty box. It's ready to shine many more shoes! Can double as a stool to sit or rest a cup of coffee. Sturdy enough to be a step stool for a child or for an adult with an average weight.
CONDITION:
Box is in very good condition. Vintage scuffs and stains but no cracks. One corner is worn and chipped as shown in photos. Hinged lid is tight and opens smoothly. Shoe base is on tight. Box has a metal latch lock. It's a little loose, pitted, and discolored.
Most accessories are opened and used but still have some cleaner or polish inside. Buffing block pads will likely need to be replaced soon. Natural horse hair brush has little shedding when tested. All 4 round brush polish daubers are in very good condition. Please see all photos for details and send questions before buying.
MEASURES:
Box measures 12-1/8" high by 15-1/8" long and 11-1/8" wide. Depth of the box is about 6-5/8" deep. Wood shoe or foot hold is 9-1/4" long by about 2-7/8" wide at heel and 3-3/4" wide at toe. Box alone weighs 9 lbs.12 ozs. before packing to ship. Sizes of contents are stated above. Weight with accessories is 13 lbs. 3 ozs.

RETURNS:
We do not accept returns because our items are fragile, antique, vintage, original, 1st ediEdition, rare/one of a kind. If not properly rewrapped and reboxed, they can break on their return. If they did, the buyer would be responsible to file an insurance claim with the carrier for the damaged item to get reimbursed. The seller would no longer be responsible. If you honestly believe that we made an error, send us a message. We will investigate and offer a solution. If we incorrectly described an item or if unintentionally, we did not show a major flaw in any of our photos, we will offer either a return label for a refund or a discount. Requests must sent within 14 DAYS of DELIVERY DATE. AFTER 14 days, they will be not be honored.
When consumers buy goods in person, they are able to inspect the goods at the point of sale. We understand that when shopping online from a e-commerce store, there may be uncertainties since one can not touch, feel, and inspect the item. To combat this dilemma, smart shoppers ask questions and clarify any concerns before deciding to make a purchase. Unlike big box retailers, we can not write off returns and damaged goods.
DAMAGED DELIVERY:
Contact us as soon as possible. Take at least 5 CLEAR, close up photos showing damage to the item, damage to the shipping box, the shipping label and the packing materials. Although either party can submit an insurance claim with a carrier, we will handle it for you if you send us the photos. The carriers require that you SAVE and HOLD the damaged item with ALL of our packing and our shipping box until they process the claim. Once approved, we'll let you know when it's okay to dispose of the broken item.
Carriers may request to inspect damaged items before reimbursement. If they ask to review it, you will need to bring the damaged item with packing in original box to your post office. To avoid misdirection or another loss, please write this on the box:
