This listing is for ONE (1) of a SET OF THREE (3) different December 1983 "INTO '84" HARING exhibit announcement post cards showing a naked Choreographer Model: BILL T. JONES - as body painted by Haring in Paris in 1983 & photographed by Haring's long-term friend and documentary photographer TSENG KWONG CHI. For this series Haring borrowed Jones' body --from head to toe --as the canvas for his work to serve as a bodily canvas defined by much of the bold pictograms characteristic of Haring's many artistic creations.

THIS one mailer IS A VERY RARE item OF EPHEMERA SHOWING an Artistic IMAGE AS CREATED BY HARING.The card image showing Bill T. Jones' body in red & black & white is the image promo poster image for "Into 84" which was published to promote the show.

This is one of 3 original post card announcements, which despite being 36 years old, is in near perfect condition. These announcements were obtained unused by my late sister when she went to "Into 84" Art Exhibit noted, put into an envelope, never handled, and stored in a non-smoking home.
Being offered is one of the set of 3 post card announcements which was sent prior to the "Into 84" exhibit to a distribution of potential attendees announcing the Exhibit by the organizers at the Shafrazi Gallery. There were no other post card Invitations produced or sent out for this Exhibit.

IN 1983 Keith Haring teamed up with award-winning choreographer and dancer Bill. T. Jones, founder of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company. Keith and Bill met and worked together in London in 1983 when Haring was opening a major show at the Robert Fraser Gallery. Together Jones and Haring produced a series of exceptional collaborations in both performance and drawing which led to the post card images shown on the 3 Invitations shown in this listing.

The authenticity of these announcement post cards is absolutely guaranteed. These post cards were found among a group of original Haring signed & unsigned show promotional posters, books, and ephemera from various Haring and other New York art scene artist exhibits in liquidating the estate of my late sister. They were carefully stored in early 1984 after my sister attended this exhibit, and never touched again until they were found recently. I have photographs of my sister taken with Haring at the "Into 84" Haring show as an indication of provenance.
