Marginal Way is a scenic trail from Perkins Cove to Ogunquit Beach. The lighthouse is located at the half way point when walking on the Marginal Trail. The mini lighthouse called Lobster Point Lighthouse was constructed in 1948 by Winfield C. Littlefield and designed by Grover S. Perkins. This iconic roadside lighthouse will continue to ‘light the way’ for the droves of tourists and locals alike who navigate Marginal Way.

Ogunquit's Marginal Way is a 1.25-mile trail with incredible views of the coast. The path leads from the downtown shopping area to the fishing village in Perkins Cove.The footpath is called Marginal Way because of it’s pattererned development along the edge of the Maine cliffs.

Josiah Chase (1840 to 1928) bought a 20-acre strip of land extending “…from Perkins Cove to Israel Head.” In 1925 Chase donated the magnificent Marginal Way to the town of Ogunquit. Later on other Ogunquit landowners conveyed parcels that lengthened the footpath by another 1/4 mile. Marginal The footpath is called Marginal Way because of it’s pattererned development along the edge of the Maine cliffs.

William. B. MacGregor Jr. Watercolors The Junkyard Artist

William B. MacGregor, Jr. was born in Medfield, MA, the son and grandson of Norfolk Hunt Club kennel masters. Many of his family members were self taught artists, woodcarvers, automobile mechanics and veterans of foreign wars including his father a WW1 US Army veteran. Bill is a graduate of Medfield High School, Wentworth Institute, and Northeastern University. His engineering career, from which he is now retired, included working for military and aerospace companies in industrial engineering and IR optics. His painting incorporates “old skool” mechanical and civil drafting tools and he uses a mixed medium of watercolors, acrylics and inks. Two rabbits are often in quite a few of his paintings. Look for them. He is frequently commissioned by United States Naval officers to create paintings of their ships and aircraft carriers on nautical charts. In May,2018, and for one year, four of Bill’s automotive related paintings were on display at the Larz Anderson Auto Museum in Brookline, MA
