This Urginea (now called Drimia) maritima bulb is the largest bulb in the world! These grow to about 8" across, and up to ten pounds per bulb!

This is a fantastic succulent plant, and does very well in arid climates. We grow them in the ground here in Tucson, and they are cold hardy down to about 22F.

Urginea maritima is a very easy to grow plant. It gets a flower stalk (which can grow to 6' tall!!!) about August, and then blooms for a couple of months. Then around October, the beautiful foliage comes out, and stays until the heat of the summer, when it dies off and goes dormant. Then it comes back and starts the cycle all over again.

This plant is IN LEAF, and will probably be larger than shown when you receive it! These grow FAST!

This is a nice plant, and is in a 5 gallon pot. The bulb will measure 3" to 4" in size. It is buried in the pot, but you can repot it and elevate the bulb out of the soil if you wish.

The last two pictures are examples of the flower. The very last picture is of a 15 year old clump!

You will receive a plant similar to the plants shown.

These are VERY easy to grow. Water when the soil is completely dry. Only water when it is in flower or has leaves, but not when it is dormant.

All plants are sent bare root, unless noted. We combine shipping! If you need heat packs, please let us know and we'll send a revised invoice. The heat packs are $4 each. It is the buyer's responsibility to let us know they need a heat pack!
