14K WHITE GOLD Vintage ELGIN 18/0s 7j Gr 488 c.1930 in Illinois Art-Deco Case

Very Unique Antique Elgin watch could be yours!  This 14k white gold and diamond women's watch is currently a pendant watch but could be converted to a wrist watch!   It is powered by a 7-Jewel hand-winding mechanical movement, Elgin Grade 488, 18/0-Size, Circa 1930, Serial #32397583.  It wound up and set easily but isn't running, balance appears okay but it has not been serviced and therefore sold as-is!

This watch has a fancy art-deco style rectangular shape case with contrasting black lines and set with 2 diamonds!  The diamonds are high-quality round single-cut measuring approximately 2.0-mm each.  The case is 17-mm wide x 25.8-mm tall (not including loop).  Case is marked inside: Illinois Watch Case Co, Elgin 14K, 671119.

The case weighs in at 6.0 grams!  This is GOLD ONLY!  The 3-piece case was disassembled to clean and then weigh.  The bezel is 1.8 grams, body is 2.1 grams and bezel is 2.1 grams.  A new-old-stock crystal was then installed!

The existing bail has a pair of marcasites, but does not appear to be gold.  Case has some wear and scratches but is clean with very good luster, Crystal is new-old-stock glass, dial has a slight patina and some wear, blue-steel hands look very good!  See item specifics for more details.
