SHELLY
LADY IN A TURBAN

This small series consists of 12 very choice examples of late 18th, early 19thc works varying from flower designs to portraits.
All are within acid free mounts and are in fine to superb condition.
This fine small portrait of a young lady in a turban is signed "Shelly" at bottom left.     We have been unable to find details of this artist.      It is on 18th laid paper.
On the reverse is written in pencil "The Cabinet of Lewes, Abra, C.Taylor sculpt, published Mar 1st 1788"    Possibly this is linked to the picture which may have been used to illustrate a work published in 1788.    However, we cannot positively link the two.
Neverthess the watercollur is very fine and a collectable piece in its own right.
