DESCRIPTION: Here is a large Art Deco Schwarzburger Werkstatten and Rudolstadt  porcelain hand painted figure of a seated young female with platted hair. Her hair is black and mauve in colour with one plat in a ring with a blue bow and done up behind her head with the other plat hanging down her left side as she finish the plat off at the end. The figure is wearing a plain white top with mauve trim and a skirt with green lef sprigs and mauve trim to the hem. The young female is seated cross legged on a stool with green, black, white and mauve in colour with the base having the same colours to the base in a tented shape. She is also wearing black and mauve shoes that match her hair. Marked  to the back of the stool with an impressed A St for Arthur Storch and a blue printed Rudolstadt backstamp. The base also marked with an impressed running fox for Schwarzburger Werkstatten and an impressed fancy Ha and a black painted Rz. Arthur Storch was a freelance artist a worked for both factories. The figure dates to circa 1921.

Arthur Storch was born on 22.3.1870 in Volkstedt (Thuringia) - died around 1947 in Rudolstadt
German sculptor and medalist. 1897-1903 Student W. von Rümanns at the Munich Academy, active until 1911 in Munich, 1911-17 in Hamburg and Volkstedt, created models (especially large animal sculpture) for the oldest Volkstedter porcelain factory AG in Volkstedt and for the Schwarzburger workshops for porcelain art ibid.

SIZE: The figure measures 11 inches (28 cm) to highest point. and 8 inches (20.3 cm) at widest point. Weighs 1.213 kg before packing.

CONDITION: The figure is in very good condition. No chips, cracks, restoration or ware.
