This is a Vintage (1972) Southwestern
Arizona Silver and Turquoise Necklace that is 16 inches long from the
end of the clasp to the end of the pendant part.
The stone is set
in a beautiful grape motif with silver grapes and silver grape leaves
at the top and a silver piece hanging over the edge of the silver work
onto the blue turquoise.
Total length of the necklace when clasp is 16 inches. The actual stone measures 2 by 1.5 ish inches wide. The silver it is sitting on is 2.5 by 2.25 inches measured from below the silver grapes. There are 2 strands of silver beads and elongated silver pieces. There is a clasp at the bottom, see pictures. The silver beads count is 13 on each side with 9 elongated pieces on each side alternating with the beads. There is a rim of about an eighth holding in the stone.
My mother, father and I
went to Bisbee in 1972 where my mother purchased this Necklace
along with some other pieces.
There are no signatures on this piece. I have no paperwork on this either. I
have done some research and it could be Bisbee turquoise, the color is
not the deep deep blue however the veining is in the parameters of
Bisbee turquoise and this color is more blue than green. Not
all Bisbee is the deep blue, however the coloring is a part of it. I am
not guaranteeing it is Bisbee, just trying to relay the facts as I know
it.
