Available for immediate purchase is this profoundly rare, late 1930s vintage, new in box, guaranteed original and authentic, made in France, Bouquet D’orsay Le Dandy au parfum (a lighter cologne for daytime and summer) splash in a generous 4-ounce (110ml) size by D’Orsay Parfums Paris. This is the earlier bottle style bearing the D'Orsay coat of arms. The 1940s retail packaging was livened up with quilted white paper and a brown medallion design which featured Count D'Orsay riding horseback. All photos were taken at 40x magnification in natural light to best highlight overall condition. The buyer will receive the exact item pictured.

The ivory-colored quilted box has experienced some aging and there is a bit of cursive writing at the front top and front top edge (see photos). The bottle and bulb atomizer attachment are in mint condition. The bottle has never been opened and has extremely light evaporation. Both front labels are present – the paper black and gold foil label and the clear label with completely intact fragile black enameled lettering. The back of the bottle still contains most of its original Lord and Taylor paper tag. The bulb atomizer features early fabric tubing which is still soft and flexible. Due to its age, I am unsure if it will still work; however, it is in mint, unsprayed condition – a rare find indeed.

Originally launched in 1926, Le Dandy is classified as a sweet, aldehydic floral scent and features top notes of aldehydes, spices, carnation, and fruit; middle notes of orange flowers, jasmine, and roses on a base of tobacco, Tonka bean, balsams, leather, sandalwood, patchouli, musk, and vanilla.
