Artist's Conk (Ganoderma applanatum) is a widely distributed shelf type polypore mushroom which is closely related to its cousins, Ganoderma lucidum and Ganoderma tsugae. Although it is less well known as a medicinal mushroom, it shares many of the health-promoting components with the Reishi varieties. Active components include: Beta glucans; Hetero-beta glucans; Triterpenes (more than a hundred different terpenes, such as Ganoderic acid and Applanoxide acid); Ergosterol peroxide and other sterols; and Ganodermadiol, among several others. The mushrooms contained in this product are all-natural and wild harvested from the pristine Potomac Highlands of West Virginia. Only young, actively growing specimens are selected for harvest, assuring absolutely the freshest, most potent product.
