Sansevieria
sp.nov.(km 42)
Dragon Blue form
Collection Number 21837
Mafinga, Tanzania
SUPER RARE
Very big and thick leaves,
super blue color.
I acquired this species
in 2009 for $107
+ $35 shipping from Thailand
  + $25 Phytosanitary Certificate
so the total price I originally
paid was US$167.

Now I’m sending it along into the
world for others to appreciate.

I visit specialty nurseries
+ attend a lot of cactus and
succulent shows. In my experience
this extraordinary Sansevieria species
is simply never seen anywhere out there.
The original leaf pup I bought has now grown several
large, robust new plants — and these pups now on offer.
An adaptable and hardy species,
Sansevieria sp.nov.(km 42)
will thrive in any collection. It has
low water requirements, tolerating
infrequent irrigation.
Preferring bright indirect light, it also
takes full sun, as well as partial shade
(in very hot areas it prefers light shade or morning sun).

Sansevieria sp.nov.(km 42)
enjoys shade or hot and dry conditions —
Under frost-free cultivation it grows
well on almost any soil.

Very easy to grow and care for,
this tough, bulletproof plant can take
a lot of neglect yet absolutely flourish.

Drought Tolerant
Suitable for Xeriscaping
For sale is a rooted offset pup taken from the
strong healthy 'mother' plants in my collection

Specimens typical of those for sale are shown in the photo immediately above. This is
of course a living product of nature with natural variation. At a guaranteed minimum you
will receive at least one good strong leaf with starter roots ready for planting as shown.
Like most arid environment plants, Sansevieria has evolved to abandon its roots during
long periods of drought, and concentrate its sustenance in the leaves and underground
stolons. Therefore your specimen may or may not have extensive root material, though
it will have root buds from which new roots will rapidly form and grow once it is planted.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
For sale are 2 gradations of cosmetic visual perfection:
Both are in super healthy, prime physical condition.
Very Pretty” means a specimen that is more or less visually
spotless as far as natural plant matter goes, pristine as pictured.
Minor Visual Imperfections” means there might be a small healed-
over scratch or two on the leaf, or perhaps a bit or normal brown leaf-
drying at the tip, that sort of thing. There's no disease of any kind, just
normal, perfectly healthy plants that may have taken a physical nick in
the course of their planting and growing : purely cosmetic visuals that
won’t affect the plant’s health in any way whatsoever. Gardeners and
horticulturists who know how the natural world works, look for healthy
genetic stock above all else. They know a small blemish on a leaf, the
healed scar of a tiny abrasion or so, will not affect the health of all the
beautiful new growth the plants will produce. This variation is for such
people — who, as in the words of the classic Joni Mitchell song, don’t
mind a spot on an apple for the sake of the birds, bees and the trees.
Either variation is a great way to get a fantastic
bargain on a nice, super healthy plant specimen.
Please choose carefully then, from the variations on offer
in this listing according to your own needs and preference.
