TURKOMAN ( Turkmen ) EMBROIDERED COLLAR:
These intricately hand-embroidered collars were made in the mid to later 1900's in Central Asia - Turkmenistan. Turkoman women wear these large vibrant collars on simpler dresses to add a splash of color and tradition. The design showcases the talents of the Turkoman women who embroidered them, frequently including ancient cultural symbols and tribal affiliations.
