"RUBY- RED CRANBERRY BYRDES LEAD CRYSTAL VASE by KARL HOFBAUER 

This striking cranberry-red pressed led-crystal vase is designed by Karl Hofbauer and made in his factory in Neustadt a.d. Waldnaab, West Germany. This 1950's vintage vase has a double design, one on each side of the vase, of two birds against a twig-and-leaf ruby-red background. 

Karl Hofbauer opened his factory in the early 1950's and has continued, since that time, to make attractive vases and other items for a surprisingly reasonable price. One of his great successes is the Ruby-Red Byrdes Collection as is illustrated on this vase. There are no concessions made for the quality of these products, as can be seen by the finish of the vase which includes a lovely sawed-tooth top edge.

The Ruby-Red Byrdes Collection is much sought after by collectors.
