There is a reason why signed checks, contracts and documents carry a large premium. Other than obtaining an autograph yourself, it's about the only way to be 100% sure an autograph is authentic, in addition to the fact they carry a story and date of exactly when and where it was signed. Interesting to note who was a good tipper and who wasn't and in many cases, for tax purposes, they also wrote who they were with and/or what the reason for the dinner was. Also many of these are signed with their full name, whereas autograph seekers would get a short hastily scribbled version.

Rivaling the Brown Derby as a Hollywood hangout, the legendary Le Dome restaurant was co-founded by Elton John in 1977 in the heart of the strip at 8720 W. Sunset Blvd, walking distance from The Whiskey a Go Go, the Roxy, the Comedy Store and many other famous clubs.
