DESCRIPTION:
Complete, untouched and absolutely in 100% original antique condition. Right out of a New England estate and fresh to the marketplace. Never seen before outside of the home where it had been for nearly 100 years. Outstanding and in wonderfully well-preserved overall antique condition. It was clearly previously used but fortunately, appears to have been cared for and stored properly over the years. It doesn't appear to have been exposed to the extreme heat of an attic or the moist, damp, cool conditions of a basement or garage. The green dyed, upholstered leather is in fantastic shape, with no tears, cuts, loss or fraying along the edges of the upper tray. This would have to be considered to be nearly miraculous, considering the butler's caddy would have been used quite often and would have held both hot and cold prepared food items on china dishes or in metal serving accessories. This exposure to hot and cold objects and ones that would be condensating or sweating with moisture from their heated contents, appears not to have debilitated or distressed the dyed green upholstered leather of the upper tray and there are no noticeable white or black rings, burn marks or any real discoloration. There's only the slightest bit of color loss on the leather located on the front left edge. This loss is slight, quite minor and only evidence of the tray table's vintage American Arts and Crafts antique pedigree. The side wooden handles affixed over the upholstered leather of the sidewalls are in terrific shape, as is the matte charcoal black painted folding wood frame, with flat corded canvas spanning the round bars that support the expanse and weight of upper, 3-sided serving tray. You may have tray tables and even vintage or antique ones in your home or apartment but you most likely won't have this exquisite relic and early 20th century American Arts and Crafts artifact perched beside your bed or recliner. An extraordinary artifact in extraordinary, untouched condition. Marvelous. Fit for a discretionary king or queen. Regal elegance. Beautiful.

CONDITION:
Very Good to Excellent overall antique condition.
