The 1962-D Lincoln cent is the second most difficult Memorial cent to find in grades of MS66 or higher. Only the 1963-D is more difficult. It is easier to find a 1909 V.D.B. Lincoln cent in MS66 grade, than it is to find a 1962-D Lincoln cent in MS66 grade. It's not necessarily because collectors aren't looking for 1962-D Lincoln cents in high condition, but it’s more because many collectors have spent countless hours searching through unsealed Mint bags and original rolls, which mostly yield coins that only grade from about MS62 to MS64 grades. In MS65 grades, 1962-D Lincoln cents are also considered scarce.
