When the current runs through a power connector/power wire, it produces electromagnetic magnetization, this is what normal plated power connector problem usually occurs. It is because the plating layer contains many magnetic-sense materials. Once the connector becomes magnetized, the current will be interfered, too. It then yields a resistance and anti-deficient on the connector, performs an audio deterioration. Then the power source of the entire system is effected most and it results more efforts to spend on these equipment’s' adjustments.

This RCA plug is made of tellurium copper with RoHS-compliant nickel-free plating, manufactured in Taiwan. The differences from Chinese imitations are as follows:

1. The genuine product has the "aeco" mark inside, with a POM plastic steel shell, whereas imitations have a metal shell.

2. The nickel-free plating on the genuine product requires a thickness of 10μ Gold plating or Rhodium plating (which closely resembles the color of 24K gold) and is prone to rust, whereas nickel-plated products only have a thin layer that is less likely to rust (and does not closely resemble the color of 24K gold). The silver plating on the genuine product has a thickness of 100μ (with a matte surface), while imitations have a 1μ thick shiny layer.

3. The nickel-plated gold layer on imitations causes high-frequency spikes and a sharp sound, while the genuine product provides a balanced sound of gold, silver, and rhodium metals. Imitations use highly toxic cyanide plating, which is extremely harmful to the environment and produces toxic substances when soldered with heat.

4. When the plating layer is polished off, the genuine product shows tellurium copper, while imitations reveal a mix of metals. Tellurium provides a relaxed sound, whereas mixed brass metals produce a chaotic sound.

Choose an environmentally friendly RCA plug with good sound quality, and avoid those non-eco-friendly and poor-sounding plugs. Thank you.
